Dubai Silicon Oasis (DSO) was established by Law No. 16 of 2005 to serve the region’s need for an expanded technology‑focused business landscape. Spanning 7 km², the free zone and integrated community provides a foundation for startups, SMEs, and multinational corporations to establish themselves in a purpose‑built environment.

DSO emphasises innovation, sustainability, and a community‑oriented approach. It spans 7 square kilometers and houses several businesses and projects, including Talabat’s community delivery robots, the community’s first medical delivery drone from Fakeeh University Hospital, and Emirates’ first EV charging stations. The community also features the Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Space Centre. It’s the space centre that first sent the Emirates Lunar and Mars mission.
